The Athlete Tune Up

We understand athletes. We know the stress that training and competition puts on the body, at any level of sport.

We also know that keeping the body feeling good & moving well is key to enhancing performance, preventing injuries and actually enjoying your sport.

What is the Athlete Tune Up?

This 45 minute (or 60 if you prefer) treatment type is perfect for athletes, no matter what level you are – whether you’re training at an elite level, a weekend warrior, or anywhere in between. Whether you walk to keep fit, play footy on the weekends, or train 30 hours a week for elite competition, we've got you covered. 

In an ideal world, we would all have plenty of time to do the necessary mobility, prehab and strengthening required to keep our bodies in optimal health all the time, plus eat all the best foods, sleep well and have our stress well managed.


In an ideal world, we’d all have time for the right strength work, mobility, recovery, sleep and nutrition.


But, in reality, that’s not always possible. While we strongly support active rehab and long-term strength, hands-on treatment can play an important role in keeping your body feeling and moving well — especially when small issues start to build up.


This hands-on focused physio treatment session aims to works on those little niggles and tight areas, before they become problematic.


Treatments are tailored to the individual, and may include:

  • Deep tissue massage
  • Trigger point therapy
  • Myofascial cupping
  • Dry needling
  • Myofascial release
  • Joint mobilisation
  • Electrotherapy

Who is this treatment for?


This treatment type is ideal for people who:

  • Are training regularly or playing sport
  • Want to stay on top of muscle tightness and minor issues
  • Have recurring problem areas or niggles
  • Want to reduce injury risk and improve performance


Some common examples include:

  • A CrossFitter who finds the shoulders get a little pinchy, and the lower back gets tight.
  • A footballer with tight hamstrings and history of groin and hamstring strains
  • A volleyballer with sore knees from lots of heavy landings
  • A runner trying to make sure the legs are feeling tip top in the lead up to a race
